Steady Progression with a Strong Finish Jabon McMichael, aged 49 from Colorado Springs, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an impressive finish time of 3:42:33. The total distance covered was 13.36 miles at an average pace of 16:39 minutes per mile. Jabon showed a consistent improvement in rankings, progressing from 742nd at the start to 235th overall, allowing him to secure 12th in his division (Men 45-49). Jabon's race began robustly with an initial pace of 8:47 minutes per mile in the first 0.43 mile to the Ruxton marker. Although his pace increased as expected over longer distances and tougher elevation, peaking at a 23:31 minutes per mile at the finish, his ability to improve positions throughout the course is commendable. Notable improvements were observed when he climbed to 207th overall by the 0.5-mile marker with only 0.53 miles left. Observing these patterns can guide future pacing strategies.
