Shelby's Impressive Ascent Shelby Galinat, a trail runner from Boise, Idaho, made notable improvements in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the race in 3:29:30, significantly faster than her 2024 time of 3:46:58. Her overall pace was 15:40 min/mile, reducing from last year's 16:59 min/mile, showing a marked improvement in her endurance and strategy. Shelby placed 4th in the F25-29 division, a commendable performance. Shelby's race strategy was evident in her splits, where she maintained a consistent pace, taking advantage of the gradual elevation gain. Notably, she achieved a strong pace of 7:34 in the initial 0.43 miles at Ruxton, showcasing an excellent start. Despite slower paces in the later stages, like 21:28 in the final stretch, she effectively managed her pace above the tree line, tackling the altitude with perseverance.
