Steady Climb with Improving Position Yoav Shapira, 47, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 5:21:07. The course gradually climbs from approximately 6,300 feet to over 14,000 feet. He maintained an overall pace of 24:02 min/mile. His strongest segment was from Ruxton to Hydro Street, pacing at 13:40 min/mile, which led to an impressive improvement in position from 1402nd at the start to 1199th by the Hydro Street split. A notable aspect of his race was the steady improvement in placing within the Male 45-49 division. He started in 109th place and progressed to finish at 101st place. The split from 0.5 Miles To Go to the finish was his slowest at a pace of 34:53 min/mile but he finished strong considering the difficult ending. Focusing on maintaining a more consistent pace particularly in the higher elevation could bring performance gains in future races. Great job finishing in the top 59% overall.
