Consistent Progress and Improved Pace Matt Grace completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 4:36:33, covering a distance of 13.36 miles. This marks a slight improvement from his previous race in 2024, where he finished at 4:41:22. Notably, his average pace saw a positive shift to 20:41 min/mile compared to 21:03 min/mile last year. Matt's overall position was 723 out of 2049 participants, and he ranked 71st in the M40-44 division. Matt's race started strongly, gaining placement quickly, moving from starting 1627th at the beginning to 587th at the Ruxton split. He maintained a consistent pace until the more challenging sections. Noticeable changes in pace occurred after Barr Camp where the slope increased and the elevation was above the tree line, his pace slowed to over 25:00 min/mile. Despite the altitude challenges, Matt's performance demonstrated resilience and improvement, showing promise for future races.
