Consistent Pace with Opportunities to Optimize Climbing Sections William Vogl completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 6:12:25, covering a distance of 13.36 miles with an overall pace of 27:52 min/mile. While the overall elapsed time showed a slight increase compared to his previous race in 2024, where he clocked 6:07:22, his consistent efforts landed him 1521st overall out of 2049 participants. Examining the splits, William started strong, capturing a pace of 10:14 min/mile in the initial 0.43-mile stretch but experienced eventual declines in pace, especially from the "Bottomless Pit" over the last three miles where altitude and elevation of 13329 feet affected his performance. The segment just before the one-mile-to-go mark saw a particularly steep 39:24 split for 0.9 miles. Focusing on maintaining momentum during climbs and adapting strategies for high-altitude conditions could yield positive results in future races.
