Impressive Elevation Gain and Persistent Pace Bryson Krogue, hailing from Great Falls, MT, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon in 3:49:52, covering a distance of 13.36 miles. His overall pace was 17:12 minutes per mile. Noteworthy is his ninth-place finish in the men's 16-19 division, among 2049 participants. Despite challenging conditions as altitude increased to 14,061 feet, Bryson consistently maintained strength, especially evident by his strong initial start, moving from 12th to 9th place within his division when reaching Hydro Street. Bryson’s performance was marked by a commendable early acceleration, moving from 834th at the start to 205th by the first checkpoint at Ruxton. The last three miles, particularly taxing above the tree line, showed significant slowdowns, as seen in the highest split pace of 25:47 at "0.5 Miles To Go." By analyzing these late-stage splits, improvements in pacing during high-altitude sections might enhance future performance.
