Samantha's Strong Ascent Through Shifting Paces Samantha Grimm completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 4:36:54, maintaining an overall pace of 20:43 min/mile. Starting strong, Samantha moved from 1338th to 801st overall by Hydro Street. Her early pacing ranged from 10:14 at the first split to 17:46 by Barr Camp. The varied elevation gain, peaking at 14,061 feet, played a role as her placement fluctuated, ultimately finishing 24th in her F45-49 division. Samantha demonstrated resilience over the course, especially notable during the steepest ascent nearing the finish. The final mile highlighted a significant challenge with a 27:28 min/mile pace, yet she improved her overall position from 730th at A-Frame to 651st by "1 Mile To Go". Consistency in pacing between "0.5 Miles To Go" and the finish showed strong determination. A focus on maintaining speed in the earlier stages might help in achieving even more consistent results in future endeavors.
