Isabel Renfroe's Pace Perseverance on Pikes Peak Isabel Renfroe completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 5:42:30, covering a distance of 13.36 miles. Her overall pace was 25:38 min/mile. Starting strong with a notable pace of 10:53 min/mile at Ruxton, Isabel experienced gradual deceleration due to elevation challenges, finishing 53rd in her age division (F25-29) out of 456 female participants. Isabel showed resilience above the tree line, where splits reached as high as 41:05 min/mile at Bottomless Pit. Despite the substantial altitude of 14,061 feet at the finish, Isabel’s determination was evident, maintaining a consistent effort pace throughout the different elevation milestones. Highlighting areas for further gains, focusing on uphill endurance could enhance future performance, given the steeper challenges encountered in the last few miles, where pacing significantly slowed down. Isabel's transition through various altitudes showcases substantial mental fortitude and a strong finish.
