Consistently Improving Paces in High Altitude Challenge Zachary Erikson completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an impressive overall time of 2:17:48, holding a strong overall pace of 10:18 min/mile. Starting at the 6303-foot elevation, Zachary showed remarkable early race speed with a 5:33 min/mile pace over the first 0.43 miles and maintained an upward trajectory in placement, moving to 6th overall by Hydro Street. He gradually increased his pace climbing to 3rd position by the A-Frame checkpoint at mile 10.29, showing excellent endurance. In the critical final miles above the tree line, Zachary demonstrated a well-maintained effort as the altitude and gradient increased. His split at "0.5 Miles To Go" showed the day's slowest pace of 14:08, but he improved his placement to 2nd overall. Finishing strong, he clinched 3rd overall at the 14061-foot summit. A highly commendable performance highlighted by strategic pacing adjustments and steady climbs in overall placement.
