Consistent Elevation Gain Delivers Strong Progress Emily Ricketts, racing the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, showcased her improvement with an overall finish time of 4:09:31, achieving a 28-minute enhancement from the previous year. Her average pace was 18:40 min/mile over the 13.36-mile course — a considerable boost from her past 20:47 min/mile pace. She began the race with a swift 9:18 min/mile at Ruxton and maintained steady paces below 18 min/mile until reaching Barr Camp. The challenges of increasing elevation became evident as her pace slowed, notably to 24:10 min/mile from the "1.5 Miles To Go" mark, finishing with 25:20 min/mile. Emily's overall placement improved significantly, jumping from 660th to 448th while leaping from 161st to 99th in her gender category. The progression she has shown in finishing 15th in her division suggests continued strategic efforts in pacing could yield further advancements in future ascent races.
