Strong Start, Test of Endurance at Higher Altitudes Ashley Neuman completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an overall time of 6:39:08, covering a distance of 13.36 miles. Her early performance in the race showed promise, with a strong start at the Ruxton checkpoint, covering 0.43 miles at a swift pace of 10:07 min/mile. Maintaining a positive position, she passed the Hydro Street checkpoint 1.23 miles in with a split pace of 12:54 min/mile. As she progressed, the steeper elevation changes began to present challenges. Notably, Ashley persisted through the climb to higher altitudes, showcasing resilience as the course rose above the tree line. The A-Frame to Finish segment posed the steepest challenge, with slower but steady paces between 40:43 to 58:50 min/mile in the latter miles. Despite the demanding elevation, she remained determined, placing 105th in her division. Focusing on maintaining momentum in future events, particularly in the final high-altitude miles, could be beneficial.
