Steady Climb to Success Emily Hoover completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 4:41:51. Her overall pace settled at 21:05 min/mile across a 13.36-mile distance. Starting strong, her initial split at Ruxton station recorded an 8:09 min/mile pace, placing her 12th in her division early on. As the altitude increased, her pace naturally adjusted, with the split to Barr Camp marking an 18:34 min/mile pace. Noteworthy is Emily's consistency and ability to maintain positions. From being 77th in her division at the start to finishing 41st, she demonstrated improvement as the race progressed. Her pace varied with altitude, especially in higher elevations like A-Frame and beyond, where it ranged around 27:18 to 30:26 min/mile. With her strong finish just below the tree line to the top, Emily exemplified endurance. Focusing on consistent elevation strategies in steeper sections could benefit her future endeavors.
