Steady Progress at High Altitude Patrick Sullivan showed remarkable endurance in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, finishing the 13.36-mile trail run with an overall time of 5:19:17, placing 5th in the O70-74 division. Starting strong, Patrick improved his division rank from 12th at the start to 6th by the "Top of W's" split. His fastest split pace was 11:10 min/mile at the "Ruxton" mark. As the altitude increased, the course became more demanding. From "Barr Camp" to the finish, Patrick navigated through challenging conditions above the treeline, beginning at an elevation of over 10,000 feet. Although the split paces slowed, reflecting the altitude's impact, he maintained key positions in his division. The final stretch from "0.5 Miles To Go" to the "Finish" saw a split pace of 34:25 min/mile, showcasing his perseverance on the uphill climb to 14,061 feet. Consistent pacing is a strong aspect of Patrick's performance.
