Strong Finish Above the Treeline Mark Puccioni completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in an impressive time of 4:16:42. Covering a distance of 13.36 miles, his average pace was 19:12 minutes per mile. He completed the race 520th overall out of 2049 participants and 69th in his division. Starting at 657th place overall, Mark improved his standing significantly as he progressed, thanks to steady pacing across various segments. Mark's performance was consistently strong after reaching "Ruxton", where he initially dropped to 820th place. By "Top of W's" at 3.2 miles, he climbed to 553rd place overall. The transition from "7.8 Summit" to "Bottomless Pit" saw a consistent pace in the mid-16 minute range per mile. In the challenging final stages above 13,000 feet, Mark maintained a steady rise, finishing above his starting rank. Future strategies could explore optimization in altitude adaptation for the final challenging stretch.
