Steady Progression with Strong Mid-Race Surge Ross Horn successfully completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 5:17:29. Starting at an elevation of approximately 6,303 feet, he ascended to over 14,000 feet over 13.36 miles. His overall elapsed pace was 23:45 min/mile. Noteworthy is his initial pace at Ruxton with a split pace of 9:15, reflecting a solid start. Ross advanced impressively by 992 overall positions during the race. Mid-race performance was notable; from Hydro Street to Barr Camp, his paces ranged between 16:52 and 18:48 min/mile, maintaining consistent effort across increasing altitudes. The final 3.5 miles proved challenging. His split pace slowed to between 34:12 and 38:42 min/mile. Although positions dropped slightly from A-frame onwards, he managed a commendable finish. Focusing on building a stronger strategy towards the end may improve overall performance in the future. Nonetheless, Ross's perseverance and steady climbing in the first 7-8 miles stand out as highlights of his race.
