Improved Performance with Slightly Faster Pace Yesenia Martinez completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 5:13:34, finishing 343rd among females and 53rd in her division. Her overall pace was 23:28 per mile across the 13.36-mile course. Notably, she moved faster compared to her 2024 performance, where her pace was 23:54 per mile. In the initial stages, Yesenia started strong, recording a 9:19 pace at the Ruxton split. Despite a significant slow down above tree line, her persistence paid off. Particularly challenging sections included reaching the Bottomless Pit at a 43:18 pace and the last half-mile, where her pace was 35:41. Yesenia improved upon her placement from the previous year, moving up in position among females from 310 to 343. Continuing to focus on late-race pace may further reduce overall time and enhance future performances.
