Steady Ascent: A Strong Climb at Pikes Peak Javier Gonzalez delivered a commendable performance at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the 13.36-mile course in 5:55:10. Starting with a strategic pace of 9:26 at Ruxton, he settled into a consistent rhythm as the climb intensified. By "Top of W's" at 3.2 miles, Javier was progressing with a split pace of 19:04 and held his position well in his division. His pace at "Barr Camp" was impressive at 15:25. The final three miles, notorious for their altitudes exceeding 12,000 feet, posed significant challenges. Despite this, Javier maintained focus, navigating "A-Frame" with a pace of 38:16. Finishing strong, he reached the summit with a closing split of 44:03 over steep inclines. Ending 113th in the O45-49 division out of a notable pool highlights his endurance and steady pace management. Continuously working on altitude adaptation could enhance performance going forward.
