Consistent Effort Through Increasing Altitudes Marion Howard demonstrated a robust performance in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon, completing the course in 5:56:36 with an average pace of 26:41 min/mile. Starting strong, Marion maintained a quick pace of 10:49 min/mile during the initial 0.43 miles at Ruxton. Moving through to Hydro Street, Marion experienced a drop to a 15:16 min/mile pace, as the elevation began to increase toward 6649 feet. At the Top of W’s, with an elevation of 7934 feet, their pace lengthened to 21:11 min/mile. This trend of slower splits continued as elevations grew more challenging. The final miles above 12,000 feet at splits like "2.5 Miles To Go" exhibited a steadying effort, with a pace around 30:38 min/mile. Notably, the last section also maintained a close pace of 36:42 min/mile as Marion crossed the 14,000-foot finish line. Marion finished strong in the O65-69 division, placing 26th out of the field of 2049 participants.
