Steady Climb and Strong Finish at High Altitude Nasser Mazaheri, age 28 from Wellesley Hills, MA, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 4 hours, 8 minutes, facing an intimidating elevation rise from 6303 feet to 14061 feet. Covering a tough 13.36 miles with an average pace of 18:33 min/mile, Nasser climbed the ranks impressively from starting at 1451 overall up to 429 at the finish, showcasing sustained progress through the early stages of the race. His performance is marked by a consistent climb, particularly noticeable from the start where he leaped from 1451st to 723rd place by Ruxton, and then settled between 400-500th place throughout most of the distance. As expected with the altitude, his pace decreased in the final three miles above the tree line from a robust 16:03 min/mile earlier in the race to 27:02 min/mile at the finish. A focused future on sustained speed at high altitudes may benefit similar efforts ahead.
