Consistent Pace Despite Altitude Challenges Joseph McCarty completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 4:37:34, covering a distance of 13.36 miles. His overall placing among 2049 participants was a commendable 734th. Starting strong with a split pace of 9:33 at the Ruxton checkpoint, Joseph's initial energy set a good tone. By the Hydro Street split, he had improved his overall rank significantly to 592nd place. Joseph navigated the uphill sections with consistency. Although the final 3 miles posed additional altitude challenges, he maintained performance, as indicated by split times like 22:54 for the mile-to-go segment at 13,329 feet elevation.
