Steady Climb with Solid Mid-Race Pace Philip Pannenko, age 39 from Mystic, CT, delivered a dedicated performance in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the race in 3:33:51. Philip averaged a 16:00 min/mile pace across the 13.36-mile course. Notable was his strong start from the Ruxton split at 8:20 min/mile. As the altitude increased, his pace naturally slowed, yet he maintained a competitive stance, finishing 178th overall out of 2049 participants. Phil's mid-race splits were particularly impressive, showing a solid balance at higher elevations, such as the 13:05 min/mile pace from 7.8 Summit and the 13:42 min/mile at Barr Camp. His ranking climbed significantly early in the race, where he moved from 1669th place at the start to 357th by the Ruxton marker. Therefore, focusing on elevation training might further enhance performance in the final stages. Congratulations to Philip on a commendable ascent!
