Strong Finish with Notable Improvements Jody Minarick demonstrated considerable improvement at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, finishing the half marathon with an elapsed time of 5:53:31, improving by 17 minutes and 19 seconds compared to last year's time of 6:10:50. Her average pace improved to 26:27 min/mile from the previous 27:45 min/mile. Jody ranked 23rd in her division (F55-59), climbing four spots from her 27th place last year. Reviewing the splits, it's worth noting how challenging the final stretches were; the last 0.5257 miles took 23:38, indicating steep elevation gains above 13,500 feet. This section showcased significant elevation increase and fatigue, leading to a slower split pace of 44:58 min/mile. Between Barr Camp and Bottomless Pit, the pace was relatively fast at 32:07 for 1.86 miles compared to the very challenging sections above 12,000 feet. With continued focus on high-altitude training, further improvements in pacing consistency can be expected.
