Steady Climb with Challenges in the Final Miles Jesse Boaldin completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon, showcasing perseverance and determination. Starting strong, their pace was notably effective early on, clocking an impressive 8:34 min/mile at Ruxton and 9:22 min/mile at Hydro Street. Their overall placement improved from 601 at the start to 237 by Hydro Street, indicating a strong early performance. Notably, Jesse maintained a consistent pace through the middle sections, despite the elevation gain. In the challenging final miles above the tree line, Jesse's pace understandably slowed, yet they maintained a consistent effort, with split paces between 23:11 min/mile and 30:05 min/mile from 2.5 miles to half a mile to go. Finishing with an elapsed time of 4:22:53, Jesse completed the race with an overall placement of 578 out of 2049, in a competitive open division. Maintaining focus on the final sections could further enhance future performances.
