Consistent Performance on a Demanding Course Maribel Salazar completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 5:50:50, covering 13.36 miles with an average pace of 26:15 min/mile. Notably, within her age division of F50-54, she finished 37th out of a large field of participants. Salazar's results show perseverance, maintaining a steady pace that reflects both determination and experience, particularly in a course with significant elevation changes. While managing to remain competitive, particularly in the early stages of the race, her strategic pacing in the first three miles placed her at a comfortable position. However, a slight increase in her average pace compared to last year's time of 5:42:53 indicates a minor reduction in pace. Focusing on the latter segments, especially the last mile marker where the pace decreased to 37:46 min/mile, a slightly more conservative start might yield more consistent splits throughout the challenging elevation gains.
