Steady Climb, Strong Finish at Pikes Peak Ascent Natalie Bassett, 61, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 5:26:53, covering the 13.36-mile course. Starting off solid, Natalie's early splits showed a strong pace, hitting a commendable 10:06 min/mile at Ruxton and maintaining a consistent rhythm through Hydro Street at 13:42 min/mile. However, the climb beyond 7.8 Summit marked a shift with splits slowing, as expected, to 31:56 min/mile by the A-Frame checkpoint at 11,933 feet. Natalie showed endurance, climbing to a final elevation of 14,061 feet. Her placement was 15th in her division (F60-64) among 2049 total participants, highlighting her perseverance. Noteworthy performances include the Barr Camp split, where she clocked 15:38 min/mile, improving her divisional position to 9th temporarily. Focusing on the steeper sections could yield benefits in future races. Great effort in maintaining determination throughout a race with varied elevation!
