Consistent Improvement on Steep Terrain Tammy Jacobson completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in an impressive 5:01:12, shaving off 25:02 from her previous year's time. Her average pace improved to 22:32 min/mile over the challenging 13.36-mile incline. Tammy ranked 296th among female participants, securing the 20th place in her F50-54 division, demonstrating strong competitive performance in her age group. Tammy's pacing was noteworthy, with a consistent start pace of 10:23 min/mile at the Ruxton split and maintaining composure through the race's more demanding sections above tree line. Significant improvement was noted in pacing around the halfway marks of Barr Camp and A-Frame, where she managed better split times compared to last year. Although the final stretch at high altitude slowed her pace to 29:27 min/mile, her determination led her to advance in overall placement by 113 positions from 2024. Continued focus on high-altitude segments might benefit future races.
