Consistent Excellence on Pikes Peak Seth DeMoor secured an impressive second-place finish overall at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 2:16:48, covering the 13.36 miles at an average pace of 10:14 min/mile. While slightly slower than the previous year by 1 minute and 50 seconds, Seth maintained his strong position, replicating his 2024 standing. Starting from 62nd place at the outset, Seth demonstrated remarkable endurance and skill to quickly move up positions, ultimately finishing in second place overall out of 2049 participants. Notably, Seth exhibited the most speed early on, clocking an impressive 5:28 min/mile during the 0.43-mile segment to Ruxton, showcasing his powerful start. As the altitude increased, the pace naturally began to slow with the final 1.05 miles taking 14:49 at 14:06 min/mile. A focal point for further enhancement might be found in familiarity with high-altitude performance to reduce time lost on the challenging final split. Nonetheless, a well-executed race!
