Steady Climb to the Finish Joseph Hughes completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 5:56:03, covering a challenging 13.36-mile ascent at a pace of 26:39 min/mile from Willard, MO. Starting strong at the "Ruxton" split, his pace was 11:34 min/mile. Notably, the "Barr Camp" split showed an impressive pace of 17:26 min/mile, before an expected slowdown in the final stretches. The elevation gained was substantial, starting at approximately 6,303 feet and reaching the finish line at 14,061 feet. Joseph's performance at this high altitude event displayed commendable persistence. His splits indicated strategic effort, with a consistent pace through high-altitude sections like "Top of W's" at 21:04 min/mile. Despite the slowing pace towards the end, with the final mile split at 45:43 min/mile, Joseph managed to improve finishing positions from "A-Frame" to "Finish".
