Steady Climb with Strong Division Finish Elizabeth Klecker completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in 3:25:35, achieving a pace of 15:23 min/mile over the 13.36-mile course. She earned a commendable 3rd place in the F25-29 division. Starting strong, Elizabeth quickly advanced from 200th to 44th overall by the first checkpoint at Ruxton, evidence of her early race pacing strategy. Her swift 6:20 min/mile pace during the initial 0.43 miles proved to be a strategic move. Notably, Elizabeth continued her steady progress, consistently staying within the top 5 of her division through each checkpoint. Challenges arose as the elevation climbed from 6,303 feet at the start to 14,061 feet at the finish, specifically slowing her pace from 17:19 min/mile at Bottomless Pit checkpoint to 20:08 min/mile in the final mile. Her ability to maintain a controlled rhythm amid challenging conditions illustrates potential benefits from altitude acclimatization training for future endeavors.
