Steady Improvement and Consistency on a Grueling Course Lauren Lujan from Colorado Springs completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon in 4:38:43, displaying remarkable consistency compared to her previous attempt, where she finished in 4:39:02. Her overall finishing position was 747th out of 2049 participants, and she was 199th amongst female competitors. Within her age division of F25-29, she improved, finishing 27th this year. Throughout the race, Lauren maintained a steady effort. Notable split performances included a swift start at Ruxton with a 9:10 min/mile pace. Although the latter miles were above the treeline and the pace naturally slowed, her ability to navigate challenging sections like "No Name Creek" and "A-Frame" with controlled paces of 19:07 and 25:42 min/mile, respectively, suggests improved endurance. Her final push demonstrated determination, despite a 31:48 min/mile pace in the finishing split, underscoring her resilience at high altitude.
