Outstanding Pace Improvement and Division Victory Julie Powell demonstrated remarkable endurance and pacing at the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the half marathon in 3:19:25, setting a new personal best by 1 minute and 25 seconds compared to her previous year's performance. Her overall pace was 14:55 min/mile, a notable improvement over last year's pace of 15:01 min/mile. Julie maintained her lead in the F45-49 division, finishing first among her peers. Starting from 327th place, Julie exhibited consistent progress throughout the race, capturing her division lead by the 4.48-mile mark at No Name Creek. Her splits show she navigated the challenging altitudes with determination, specifically sustaining a strong pace in the eyes of the famed treeline phase. Despite the expected slow-down in the final miles, she solidified her status with an impressive climb. A focus on maintaining consistent splits in high elevation sections could further enhance her future performances.
