Consistent Performance with Impressive Climb Sophie Anders delivered a consistent performance in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon. With a final elapsed time of 3:23:50 over 13.36 miles, she maintained an overall pace of 15:15 min/mile. Sophie's initial burst was remarkable, moving from 198th at the start to 59th overall with a pace of 6:31 min/mile by the Ruxton checkpoint. Throughout the race, she demonstrated strong climbing abilities, maintaining a top position within her age division for much of the course. Notably, her early splits showed a commanding pace; however, as the altitude increased, her pace slowed, especially in the last three miles. By the time she reached the '1 Mile To Go' mark, her pace had shifted to 21:04 min/mile and further to 22:49 min/mile upon reaching the finish. With a 4th place finish in her F30-34 division, there's potential for strategic pacing adjustments to refine performance in future high-altitude races.
