Remarkable Ascension Through Varied Terrain Amanda Morgan completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 5:44:14, covering the 13.36-mile distance with an average pace of 25:46 min/mile. Starting strong, she initially ranked 981st overall but faced increasing challenges as she progressed, climbing from 6,303 feet to a finish at 14,061 feet. Her journey began with a swift pace at Ruxton (10:35 min/mile), which gradually tapered due to the rising elevation and terrain difficulty. Despite the decelerating pace after Ruxton, evident by a split of 42:30 min/mile at the A-Frame (11,933 feet), Amanda maintained determination, finishing 83rd in the F35-39 division. The final three miles, which peaked above the treeline, were notably challenging. From the "0.5 Miles To Go" mark at 13,694 feet, she kept a consistent finish pace of nearly 32 min/mile. This consistent pace in extreme conditions is commendable for future races. Exploring strategies to adapt to high-altitude running could make a significant difference.
