Steady Progress in High Altitude Challenge Courtney Hayashi completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an impressive elapsed time of 5:57:40, covering a distance of 13.36 miles. She maintained a consistent pace throughout the race, finishing 1423rd overall out of 2049 participants. Her pace averaged 26:46 minutes per mile, a steady performance considering the altitude and gradient challenges. Courtney started strong, moving from 1701st at the start to around 1309th by the Hydro Street checkpoint. Despite altitude affecting the final splits, especially from Bottomless Pit onward, she navigated the steeper sections competently. Notably, she showed resilience in the mid-sections with splits under 23 minutes per mile. Her split at Barr Camp stood out at 17:08 minutes per mile. Suggest working on maintaining that pace in high altitudes, which could contribute to more consistent end-stage times in future similar events. Great dedication and effort shown throughout the ascent!
