Consistent Climb with Notable Mid-Race Progression Irais Tenorio tackled the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with determination. Starting strong, Irais reached "Ruxton" at 810th overall place, demonstrating a solid pace of 9:37 min/mile. The climb presented steady yet challenging sections, causing a gradual pace adjustment. Maintaining resilience, she impressively advanced past competitors reaching the "Top of W's" at 1268th. Notable mid-race progress at "Barr Camp" with a 15:07 min/mile pace helped Irais leverage favorable conditions below treeline. Despite facing slowing conditions at higher altitudes, Irais sustained a commendable position within her age division F25-29, finishing 57th out of the total participants. While tackling the final stretch to the summit presented increased pacing difficulties, traversing "Bottomless Pit" and tackling a significant climb to "Finish" at 14061 feet, Irais set a final time of 5:51:43, highlighting endurance and determination essential for high-altitude races. For future races, maintaining those moments of progress could yield even better results.
