Steady Progress in Challenging Conditions Sharon Greenbaum tackled the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon with a final time of 5:04:58 over a 13.36-mile distance. Her pace averaged 22:49 minutes per mile. Sharon finished 8th in the F60-64 division, reflecting consistency in her performance compared to the 2024 event, where she finished 9th. Starting strongly at Ruxton with an impressive split pace of 11:18 for the first 0.43 miles, she maintained determination throughout the ascent. As expected, her pace adjusted with the increasing elevation and distance. In the last three miles of her ascent above the tree line, her pace comprehensively slowed, with split paces of 30:44, 31:24, and 31:25 for the final sections. Despite the pace deceleration due to challenging altitudes and gradients, Sharon's consistent placement throughout the race and her finish indicate skillful pacing. The climb from 6303 to 14061 feet in elevation remains a notable feat, showcasing Sharon's endurance and tenacity.
