A Consistent Climb with Steady Determination Abram McBride completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an overall time of 4:18:31, averaging a pace of 19:21 min/mile over 13.36 miles. Starting strong with an 8:20 pace at Ruxton, he experienced a solid performance through Hydro Street and the Top of W's, holding consistent splits. His overall placements maintained a fair rank, finishing 539th out of 2049 participants. Abram demonstrated significant perseverance in the final stretches. The last three miles saw him navigating high elevations comfortably, with split paces adjusting from 25:20 min/mile at A-Frame to 27:57 min/mile at the summit. While his position shifted slightly during A-Frame to 2 Miles To Go, he tightened his focus, showing marked improvement and resilience, notably advancing back to 495 in overall rank just one mile before the finish. This strategy and consistent effort below tree line could be further refined in future races.
