Steep Climb in High Altitude Grace Simon completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an overall time of 6:11:29 over a distance of 13.36 miles. Her average pace was 27:48 per mile, navigating an ascent to an altitude of 14,061 feet. Grace’s performance secured her the 1516th position out of 2049 participants, placing 548th in her gender category and 34th in her age division (F20-24). Grace started at a strong pace, initially placing 367th overall. However, as the elevation increased, her placement varied, notably dropping to 1727th position at the 3.2-mile mark. Noteworthy is her ability to improve her ranking during the final segment, finishing 1516th overall. While the upper reaches of the course presented significant challenges, the experience gained may lead to performance gains in future races. Grace’s perseverance throughout the grueling course is commendable, demonstrating strong resilience on one of the most demanding sections.
