Significant Time Improvement in High-Altitude Conditions Hanz Tao completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 5:11:04, covering a distance of 13.36 miles with an average pace of 23:17 min/mile. His performance saw a notable improvement of 10 minutes compared to his previous Pikes Peak Ascent time of 5:21:04. This year's effort placed him 1083rd out of 2049 participants overall and 128th within his division for ages 35-39. Hanz maintained a consistent start and showed resilience in high-altitude conditions, climbing from an elevation of approximately 6,303 feet to 14,061 feet. The most significant challenge faced during the ascent was the split from “Barr Camp” to “Bottomless Pit,” where his pace drastically increased to 48:02 min/mile. Despite this, Hanz managed to recuperate and improve his split times in the segment leading to "1.5 Miles To Go," achieving a split pace of 30:05 min/mile. Attention on maintaining consistent pace across all segments could lead to further improvements in future races.
