Consistent Strong Performance Despite Increasing Altitude Ed Price completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with an elapsed time of 4:13:14 over a distance of 13.36 miles, achieving an average pace of 18:57 min/mile. He displayed notable endurance and consistency, finishing 11th in his division (O60-64) out of 53 participants, among a total of 2049 runners. Ed's initial pace was strong, covering the first 0.43 miles at an impressive 9:02 min/mile. As the race progressed and the elevation increased from 6,303 feet to over 14,000 feet, his pace adjusted as expected due to altitude and terrain challenges. Throughout the race, Ed maintained a steady standing within his division, reaching the "Barr Camp" checkpoint at 7.91 miles with a split pace of 16:01 min/mile. Despite slower splits in the final miles, such as 31:13 min/mile for the last half-mile, Ed's consistent progression through each checkpoint highlights his determination and ability to manage the challenging elevation gains effectively.
