Consistent Performance on the Ascent Cari Warden participated in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, completing the half marathon distance in 4:35:05 with an elapsed pace of 20:35 min/mile. With a total elevation climb to 14,061 feet, the challenging race saw a maintained close consistency to her previous year's time of 4:33:47, showing a slight increase. Across the event's total participants of 2,049, Cari finished 11th in her F50-54 division, maintaining her division position during most of the race and matched her previous year's ranking. In the initial split to Ruxton at 0.43 miles, Cari demonstrated strong pacing at 8:44 min/mile, ranking 4th in her division. However, challenges arose post "2 Miles To Go" as the elevation climbed over 12,000 feet, resulting in slower splits. Her pace from A-Frame was notably slower, peaking at 29:48 min/mile during the final half mile. Continued attention to pacing strategies in high altitude situations can help enhance endurance in the later stages of the race.
