Steady Climb on the Pikes Peak Ascent Aaron Knodell from Colorado Springs completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 4:29:41 over a 13.36-mile course. His overall age division placement was 89th, and he experienced varied pace adjustments throughout the climb, starting with a rapid 9:04 pace during the initial Ruxton segment and slowing to 30:30 at the high-altitude finish, emphasizing the increasing challenge with elevation. Notably, this year's performance showed a slower time compared to his previous race in 2024, where he recorded a 3:58:19 finish. One area to focus on is maintaining a more consistent pace throughout the ascent. Particularly, the last mile presented a challenge with a split pace of 30:30 min/mile. Observing segments such as "A-Frame" with a 27:28 split pace could help identify sections for further strategy refinement. Overall, Aaron displayed resilience in completing this demanding course.
