Consistent Improvement in a Grueling Ascent Daniel Wyczolkowski completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent with an elapsed time of 5:03:56, showing a noticeable improvement from last year's 5:16:17 finish. His average pace improved to 22:45 min/mile over the 13.36-mile course. Particularly noteworthy was his performance on the early stages, such as at the "Barr Camp" mark, where his split pace was 13:43 – the fastest of his entire race. Daniel gained ground in his age division, moving up from 108th to 95th place this year. In the latter stages, Daniel's pace understandably slowed. For the final stretch, from "0.5 Miles To Go" to the "Finish," his pacing decreased to 34:58 min/mile at an altitude over 14,000 feet. As expected, the high altitude and steep incline were challenging, yet Daniel showed resilience, highlighting his strength. For future races, focusing on maintaining steady pacing beyond the tree line could further enhance his performance. Great progress overall!
