Consistent Progression, Room for Growth Shiva Sedai, age 40 from Colorado Springs, completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon in a time of 5:35:38, clocking an average pace of 25:07 per mile over the 13.36-mile course. Starting strong, Shiva was 15th in the Over 40-44 division at the beginning but finished 115th in that category. His highest ascent was at 14,061 feet at the finish line. The early stages showed promising momentum, with an impressive split pace of 9:29 in the first 0.43 miles. However, as the altitude increased, the pace declined, with the final half-mile recording a split pace of 43:45. Splits between Bottomless Pit and the summit saw significant increases in time, particularly the 1.31 miles taking 91:41 combined. Consider focusing on strategies for maintaining tempo at higher elevations to improve overall race time.
