Steady Performance Under Challenging Conditions Margaret Klein completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent half marathon in 5:38:09, maintaining an average pace of 25:18 min/mile. The race progressed from 6303 feet to a challenging 14061 feet altitude over 13.36 miles. Margaret's initial pace was swift with a 10:17 min/mile at Ruxton, then transitioning to slower paces as she climbed higher and encountered more strenuous conditions. From "A-Frame" onwards, as she crossed 11934 feet, her pace understandably decelerated further with sections like "Bottomless Pit" clocking in at 39:12 min/mile. Throughout the event, Margaret showed consistency in her placements. She climbed from 139th in the F40-44 division at "Start" to finishing 62nd in her division. Her performance at "1.5 Miles To Go" stood out, ranking 34th within her division momentarily. As she continues participating in events like these, focusing on pacing strategies at higher altitudes could be beneficial. Her consistent effort is commendable!
