Consistent Effort through Altitude Challenges Samantha Kraemer from Colorado Springs finished the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent in 5:59:22, covering the 13.36-mile distance at an average pace of 26:53 min/mile. Starting strong, she initially placed 361st among other females but gradually placed in 506th by the finish. She consistently maintained her position in the F30-34 division, concluding in the 68th position. Notably, Samantha recorded her fastest pace of 11:14 min/mile early on but had a substantial decrease to a slower 48:04 min/mile as altitude increased past the tree line. The toughest segment appeared between Bottomless Pit and A-Frame, where she spent an hour covering 1.52 miles. This indicates a sharp increase in effort at high altitudes. Her splits revealed a progressive adjustment to the race's increasing difficulty. Polishing technique in high-altitude segments and pacing strategies could help enhance future performances.
