Strong Finish Despite High Altitude Challenges Evan Fugate, 18, from Colorado Springs, showcased a steady performance in the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon. Evan completed the challenging 13.36-mile course in 3:33:47, achieving an average pace of 16:00 minutes per mile. Notable is Evan's strong initial split at Ruxton, clocking a 6:47 minute/mile pace and securing the 77th overall position. In the progressive climb above the treeline, Evan's pace understandably slowed, with the most significant decrease occurring post-A-Frame checkpoint. His final mile, encompassing substantial elevation gains, was completed at a 24:44 minute/mile pace, indicating potential for pacing strategy optimization at high altitudes.
