Steady Pacing Achieves Personal Milestone at High Altitude Ryan Flack tackled the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, demonstrating a consistent and determined effort. Starting strong, Ryan quickly moved up in position from 1673rd to 760th overall in the initial 0.43 miles with a pace of 9:31 min/mile at Ruxton. By Hydro Street, at 1.23 miles, Ryan achieved a promising 624th place, maintaining momentum with an 11:03 min/mile pace. As the race progressed, Ryan maintained composure, navigating the increasingly challenging conditions with determination. The race's conclusion saw Ryan complete the half marathon in 4:27:49. With an average pace of 20:02 min/mile over the 13.36-mile course, Ryan achieved noteworthy positions, finishing 625th overall and 57th in the 45-49 age division out of 2049 participants. An area to consider is the significant pace drop in the final three miles. Enhancing endurance at higher altitudes may prove beneficial for future events.
