Steady Ascent With Strong Mid-Race Performance Zachary Ledford completed the Pikes Peak Ascent Half Marathon with a time of 4:52:09 and an overall pace of 21:52 min/mile. Notably, Zachary made significant early gains, advancing from 1603rd to 574th place by the Ruxton split. His pace varied, beginning with a brisk 9:03 min/mile for the initial 0.43 miles. This improved standing to 472nd by Hydro Street, with a commendable split pace of 10:35 min/mile. However, by the finish, his final ranking was 903rd out of 2049 participants. Zachary maintained a solid mid-race form, particularly from the Top of W's to Barr Camp, where his pace stayed below 17 min/mile. The most challenging segments were towards the end, where climbing above the tree line saw slower paces, such as 34:24 min/mile over the final segment. Future races could focus on maintaining pace consistency in high-altitude conditions to continue achieving personal bests.
