Steady Climb Through the Elevation Jack Gates completed the 2025 Pikes Peak Ascent, a demanding 13.36-mile course rising from 6,303 to 14,061 feet, with a finish time of 6:02:57. Jack's pacing showcased significant perseverance, marked by an average pace of 27:10 min/mile. His performance positioned him 1464th overall among 2049 participants, reflecting a steady effort in a field of strong competitors in the 45-49 age group, where he placed 121st. Starting off strong at Ruxton with a split pace of 10:03 min/mile, Jack maintained determination as the elevation increased. Notably, his segment from Barr Camp to Bottomless Pit at a pace of 41:21 min/mile and the final half mile at 43:50 min/mile highlight the altitude's impact. A closer look at his splits suggests focusing on maintaining consistency in the middle sections could enhance future performances, particularly between Hydro Street and Barr Camp. Great effort in tackling an elevation gain of over 7,700 feet!
